Tubal Infertility

Name of Patient : Vijaylakshmi

I am Vijaylakshmi, married at very young age when almost I did know nothing about sexuality or marital life. I was just 18 and very next year I got pregnant and one fine day suddenly I developed unbearable abdominal pain and went to my gynae for the same. She diagnosed my problem as “Ectopic Pregnancy”. It took long for me to understand that what ectopic pregnancy is? In emergency she had to remove one of my tubes and also gave me bad news that my second tube is scarred tube. For me, it was a shock-I took long time for recovery both physically and mentally. In first place I lost my first child and second the healthy tube. Nine long years passed. One day when I visited my Aunt she told me about fertility treatment, I was really happy. Staying in a very small town we were unaware of developing science and treatments available for issueless couple. All these years I was visiting different temples and Gurujis for their blessing so that I could be a mother. My Aunt told me about Dr. Rama and her Institute. My husband and I decided to visit the institute and from there my journey began. During my first visit to the institute I was educated about fertility, reproductivity, fertility treatments and most importantly about positive attitude. I felt very homely. From counselors to pathological lab staff, all were very cooperative and made me feel that I am special. In my first visit, though I am only school dropper. I knew about science, about my body and my reproductive system. I was really happy. They again checked my tubes through HSG and came to the conclusion that IVF will be the best option for me to conceive. I was enrolled for ‘Long Protocol’ stimulation which took eight days and they retrieved 11 oocytes and yes out of that eight were of M II grade. My husband’s semen analysis was in normal range. Inseminated with my husband’s sperm, nine oocytes fertilized and all nine turned into beautiful embryos. Embryo transfer was done on day III. They had transferred 3 of the best embryos and the rest were frozen for future use.

I had my pregnancy test on 11th Day of the embryo transfer and also checked for hormonal levels. With doctors best efforts my hormonal levels were maintained through exogenous hormone Supplement. The result was positive. Ultra sound was done on 30th day post ET and for the first time I saw my baby’s heart beat. This feeling was out of the world and words were not enough to express my joy and happiness. I really didn’t know how to say my regards to Dr Rama and her team. Doctors prescribed me medicines for healthy pregnancy, I was so relaxed with all the doctors there that I decided to stay under their care till my delivery, because I knew no body else could treat me as best as Dr. Rama and her staff. Every month I use to visit the clinic for my regular check-ups. I had a full term delivery and now I am a proud mother of a lovely child. I named her Ramashree as she was a priceless gift from God passed through the hands of Dr. Rama to me.

I wish every couple who undergo treatment here a very good luck and also positive thoughts for their dreams and I am thankful from my heart to each and every member of the Institute.

Donor Sperm :

I got married when I was studying in final year of my post graduation. We wanted to delay our pregnancy and we followed safe period (as my period is regular 28 days cycle) and male barrier (condom) method. After completion of my studies and settling in my job, we started trying to conceive. I thought in my first month only I will get pregnant, I even started thinking of my child’s name and also visited baby stores but I got my period exactly on 28 days and this continued months after months. Few months later, after seeing an advertisement in Women’s Era Magazine, I called up the number given. I was satisfied after talking over the phone and decided to visit the centre at Hyderabad. As per their instruction I visited the centre on 3rd day of my period with 3-4 days absence from sex (they told me, it is requires to have proper semen analysis). My all reports were normal but to out surprise semen analysis reports showed the total count to be 2 million with 10% progressive motility. They investigated for the possibility of varicocele, blocked ducts, hormone problem etc and gave him medicines for improvement in count and motility for a period of 3 months. After completion of medicine course, my husband repeated the test and there was no real improvement. Doctor advised us to directly go for IVF-ICSI in this procedure the embryologist inject a single motile sperm into a single egg for fertilization and the resultant embryo will be transferred to my womb.

I went through 4 IVF-ICSI cycles. In every cycle eggs retrieved were in between 5 and 7 in numbers. During our 4th cycle we decided that this would be our last chance and we also started thinking of adopting a child, because my husband never wanted me to suffer physically, mentally or emotionally. He was very co-operative during all my cycles. My last pregnancy test was also negative. We told about our idea of adoption to Dr. Rama and she suggested us to go for one IUI cycle with Donor Semen. MY husband agreed for this, as he wanted me to have the pleasure of giving birth. He convinced me. I wanted to have a baby like him, his features, his height and color. Doctor helped me in the perfect donor who had maximum similarity with my husband. That following month I underwent IUI cycle and for the first time my periods got delayed. My blood test showed that I was pregnant. More than me my husband felt happy. He took maximum care of mine and also brought good books. I still had in my mind of mind that he is not the biological father of my child. But by the time I was nearing the delivery, I realized that “this was our baby”. When our son was born, we both cried. The baby in our arms made us feel proud parents. We are thankful from bottom of our hearts to each and every member of Dr. Rama’s Team. She made our dream come true. My son is now 2 years old and calling to me in his baby language the sweetest word of this universe “Maa”.

Success in First IVF Cycle :

I was just 19 when I got married, ours was an arranged marriage and we both are from a small village in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, though for our studies we stayed in hostel at Hyderabad. After our marriage we stayed separately from our family because of our jobs. My husband is 8 years elder to me and as a part of his job he had to leave the country for 2 years. I could not accompany him as his company was sponsoring only him. He came back when I was 22 years. I started thinking of having a child and being so young I thought I can be a mother anytime. One whole year passed without any success. After this unsuccessful year, I visited my family doctor alone. She referred me to Dr. Rama Devi and asked me to go along with my husband.

At this point I was feeling very isolated and depressed and thinking that I am only fighting the battle of infertility. During my first visit to the doctor Rama Devi – she explained me the technical points and emotional aspects of infertility. She gave me courage and I threw my entire burden on her shoulders. I was relieved from my worries. I was happy to know that someone is there to share my feelings and to treat my infertility. The doctor asked me and my husband to get few tests done and everything was normal. I was eager to become a mother and started preparing for an IUI cycle. We followed the protocol for 5 IUI cycles, but without any success. This time again, I was trapped in the web of tension, worry and guilt. It was my husband and the team of Dr. Rama who took the great effort to bring me into my normal state of mind.

My husband and I agreed to go for only one IVF cycle as we were both emotionally and monetarily drained. The stimulation medicines worked well and as per the embryologist my embryos were excellent. After the Embryo Transfer (ET) I just followed Dr. Rama’s advice and she and her team did their best to keep my hormone levels under control. The blood test on 11th day of ET gave a positive hope. On the 30th day post ET I saw a heart beat and that too, “two of it” and truly speaking I missed one of my heart beat. It took long for me to realize that I was pregnant. Through out my pregnancy I was under the care of Dr. Rama and her team. At full term I gave birth to my twins- a boy and a girl. God was very kind to me. Now my family is complete and it could not have been possible without the help of Dr. Rama and Her Team.

A Story of a Miracle Boy (Oligospermia) :

I am 34 years old and my husband; I shall refer him in my story here after as PD (Pati Dev i.e. husband). We never realized that we are issueless. Since all the time after our marriage we spent in fulfilling our family responsibilities as my PD’s family is large and he is the eldest of his six brothers and sisters. It was also our hard luck that he lost his father only after a year of our marriage. It has been a very tough journey for us with many ups and downs. We never had time to think about a child until we saw our friend’s children growing up in front of our eyes. It is hard to understand, but there re few questions, without any solutions. We left to God and thought he must have some plan for us. We never went for any treatment or even to our Gynaec to discuss the problem. The problems of our life got solved one by one- my PD’s brothers and sisters got married and settled in their lives. It was for the first time when my sister-in-law forcefully took me to Dr. Rama Devi as one of her friends conceived through her treatment. Now I am thankful to my sister-in-law for taking me there. Initially I was reluctant as we had prepared our selves to live like that. Just to make my sister-in-law happy, I went along with her. After my first consultation, I was completely satisfied with the doctor’s approach and also promised her to visit her centre on 3rd Day of my period along with my period. As I was in a hurry to be a mother now and considering my age factor and also my husband’s semen analysis reports showed severe oligospermia, we decided to go for an IVF cycle directly.

My journey towards parenthood was smooth because of Dr. Rama and her team. During my visit to her institute, I used to feel, it as my second home. She retrieved 4 eggs and 3 of them fertilized. 2 embryos were excellent and of A+ grade, while embryo was of compromised quality. She transferred all 3 embryos. I was feeling that I was pregnant on the day of transfer itself. All the members of my PD’s family treated me as if, I am kid. I enjoyed all the attention and the new “Queen- Hood” being bestowed upon me. By God’s grace and by Doctor’s effort, my test came positive and I was pregnant. All the days of my pregnancy were memorable. I was under the care of two superb hands, one of my PD and the other of Dr. Rama. My health, pregnancy and emotions were taken care by Dr.Rama, my PD and his family members. They were happy more than me. It was just a miracle and my miracle baby is now 3 years old and she is luck to have three mothers me, my sister-in-law and Dr. Rama.

Hi, I am Rajyalakshmi. It’s since 7 years we got married. I had irregular periods due to PCOD [Polycystic Ovarian Disease]. So, I had difficulty in giving birth to a child. I had tried taking treatment in Tamil Nadu but it wasn’t successful. Later, myself and my husband got a job in Hyderabad. So we were settled in Hyderabad.

I saw an advertisement about Dr. Rama’s Fertility clinics in the newspaper. We decided to take treatment here. All the patients who visited Dr. Rama’s Fertility clinics gave a very good opinion that the success rates are high. Initially I took five IUI cycles which was not successful. Then after analysis Dr. Rama had suggested IVF cycle. The doctors explained me clearly about the treatment. So, I had no confusion and very much ready for the treatment. I had my oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer done. Dr. Rama advised me to keep my mind cool without any stress. The doctor’s and nurses were kind and very much supportive. I never had a feeling that I was away from home. By everybody’s care and affection and by God’s grace my first IVF cycle was successful. Now I am two months pregnant with twins. Even today when I see everybody in the hospital, they enquire about my health and feel very much happy for me.

My heartful thanks to Dr. Rama Devi, Dr. Vijayalakshmi and Dr. Nirmala who had given me full support all through my treatment. I also feel happy to share my success story with all of you.

Oocyte Donation :

Name of Patient : Mrs. Anjali’s Story

I am 41 years old and had undergone three failed IVF cycles with my oocytes, with different fertility clinics in USA. We happened to attend the TANA meet i.e Telugu Association of North America and came across Dr.Rama’s Institute for Fertility representatives. They showed us a video presentation of their hospital which was very simple, impressive yet very informative and accurate. After seeing the presentation I took the email ID of the hospital and contacted them and mailed my case history. They promptly replied and considering my age and failure of 3 IVF cycles with my own oocytes advised me to go for oocyte donation.

We agreed with them and gave our consent, we sent them the possible characteristics we were looking in the donor. Lucky, the hospital found a donor matching our criterias. During all these mail transactions and phone conversations the staff of the hospital and Dr.Rama herself told me to keep a positive approach and encouraged us not to loose hope. Dr. Rama’s calm, but confident approach was very comforting and reassuring to us. We felt that we were receiving the best possible care and attention with you as our doctor.

After the donor was finalized Dr. Rama prescribed me medicines to synchronize my cycle with that of the donor and she asked me to get all the pre-investigations done at our place in USA only. This saved us a lot of time and money as we came to India just a day before the oocyte pick up procedure. The Donor was healthy and she produced mature acolytes which were inseminated with my husband’s sample. The procedure went on smoothly and all the while the doctor took great care for preparing my endometrium for the implantation. All the staff was very co-operative and kind and they never got irritated with my questions [even with my stupid questions]. The embryo transfer took on 3rd day and 3 healthy embryos were transferred.

We were waiting for the b-hCG blood report for confirmation of the pregnancy and by God’s grace and Dr. Rama’s efforts I conceived. No words were available for us to express our feelings and happiness. I completed the full term pregnancy and delivered a beautiful baby girl.

We are very thankful to Dr. Rama and her clinic staff for helping us build a complete family and fulfill our deepest desire to achieve parent hood. We cannot thank you enough for all your kindness, professionalism and determination in bringing us this miracle and making the impossible possible. The comfort and warmth offered by Dr. Rama and her staff will be remembered by us all through our lives.

Male Factor :

Going to infertility specialists is not something one can discuss easily with family and friends. It is a difficult decision to make and it means that both husband and wife have to accept reality and make a joint decision to seek advice and help.

Bhavana and I were married for 6 years and were trying to conceive from the last 2 years. After not conceiving, we decided to visit our local gynaecologist, she did all the tests and prescribed us some medicines, we tried for 6 monhts. But again were let down. Then we decided to visit a fertility specialist, I surfed the net for the top fertility specialists in Hyderabad and got the address of Dr. Rama’s Fertility clinics.

We were very impressed with the information furnished by the institute’s website and we decided to give it a try and contacted them via mail with our case details. I was really surprised by their prompt and accurate reply. They had patiently replied and answered all my questions. With the Staff’s prompt replies and planning we came down to the clinic and met Dr. Rama. Her friendly and personal attention reinstilled the hope and positive attitude in us. It was diagnosed that I was suffering from severe oligospermia with only 20% motility and Dr. Rama suggested we go for an IVF | ICSI. We gave consent for Dr. Rama’s advise and started the treatment. My wife was kept on long protocol hormonal therapy and mature oocytes were retrieved from her and the embryologists performed the ICSI procedure with my semen sample. The doctors and the staff kept reassuring and comforting us. Which helped us to maintain a positive out look. The ICSI procedure was a success and we had beautiful 4 embryos. The embryo transfer was done on the 3rd day of the oocyte pick up. We were eagerly waiting for the b-hCG report and alas ! the result was positive. The joy and happiness we witnessed on that day was un-expressible. My wife’s pregnancy went well and delivered a healthy baby boy.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to Dr. Rama and her staff for turning our dream of parenthood into a reality. Our struggles with infertility were an emotionally and physically trying time, however the warmth and personal attention felt at every office visit, and on every telephone call gave us the encouragement we needed, to never loose hope.

The staff of Dr. Rama’s Fertility clinics was a perfect blend of professionalism mixed with gentleness, kindness and compassion. Through Dr.Rama and her staff we have been blessed by a unique gift of life and we are truly thankful and grateful to Dr. Rama’s Infertility clinics.
